Hard is it to be in the world, free, yet living the life of ordinary men; but because it is hard, therefore it must be attempted and accomplished.

All tremble at the rod. All fear death. Comparing others with oneself, one should neither strike nor cause to strike.

And the king said to her, what is your trouble? She answered, Alas I am a widow; my husband is dead. Sometimes people think that trials are the same thing as temptations. These are not the same thing. What is the difference between a "trial and a Temptation?

As I see it, only God can be all-powerful without danger, because his wisdom and justice are always equal to his power. Thus there is no authority on earth so inherently worthy of respect, or invested with a right so sacred, that I would want to let it act without oversight or rule without impediment
